Offshore racers are invited to FREE "After the Sun Sets" Race Seminars at 4 SoCal yacht clubs this winter (1/28 at San Diego YC, 1/29 at Balboa YC, 2/11 at Del Rey YC, and 2/12 at Dana Point YC). Learn from Bob Steel, a US Sailing "Safety at Sea" instructor on Safety and Weather Forecasting, Bruce Cooper from Ullman Sails on night sail trim and selection, and Peter Vretschger from NOSA on general tips for night racers and updates on racing to Mexico.
Congratulations to overall winner of the 2014 Islands Race, Brack Duker and the crew of the Santa Cruz 70 Holua! The 5th annual Islands Race was held in early March, starting on Friday the 7th off Newport Beach, leaving both Santa Catalina Island and San Clemente Island to port, and finishing on Saturday the 8th in San Diego.
With Yellowbrick Race Trackers on board all Islands Race boats, you can go back and watch a replay of the race online. The 2 speedy trimarans start last and fly past the entire fleet, becoming the first boats to round San Clemente Island and fly south around the course.
